The short version
Baby Atlas is an educational and organisational tool. It is not a medical device and does not replace care from a qualified healthcare professional.
Baby Atlas shows you general information about pregnancy, and keeps the records you choose to enter. It does not assess you, and it cannot tell whether anything is wrong.
What Baby Atlas will never do
- Diagnose anything.
- Say that a pregnancy is healthy, or that it is not.
- Tell you a symptom is normal, or that not having one means anything.
- Suggest starting, stopping or changing a medication or a dose.
- Present a number you recorded as a conclusion about your health.
These are constraints in the software, not aspirations. Where the app has an assistant, its answers are checked against the same list before you see them.
About symptom information
This describes what people commonly report in a given week. Everyone experiences pregnancy differently. Having a symptom — or not having one — does not tell you whether anything is wrong.
About the trackers
These are the measurements you entered from your own records. Baby Atlas does not interpret them or calculate percentiles.
Baby Atlas records weight without judging it. Expected weight change varies from person to person — your care team is the right source for what is appropriate for you.
There is no single movement count that applies to everyone. Follow the specific instructions your own care team has given you, and contact them if you are worried about your baby’s movements.
This timer records what you enter. It cannot tell you whether labour has started. Contact your maternity care team using the instructions they gave you.
About medications
Baby Atlas records only what you enter. It never suggests starting, stopping or changing a medication or dose. Discuss every medication decision with a qualified healthcare professional.
About size comparisons
Size comparisons are approximate and meant to be playful. Real measurements vary widely and are only meaningful when taken by your care team.
Where the information comes from
Every published article shows who reviewed it and when. Content past its review date is unpublished automatically rather than left to age quietly.
In an emergency
If you think something is wrong, contact your maternity care team or your local emergency services. Use the instructions they gave you. Do not wait for an app.
Baby Atlas keeps the emergency information you or the operator entered available even when every other part of the service is unreachable, because that is the moment it matters. It is a place to keep the number, not a substitute for calling it.
